Counselor Information
Camp counselors are the backbone of our camp ministry. A successful camp experience for each child largely depends on the quality of their counselors. At Camp Oak Hill, we are seeking mature college students to fill the roles of male and female counselors for Summer 2012.
Qualifications:
- Completed at least one year of college, or have been out of high school for at least one year
- Strong commitment to the Christian faith, and a desire to share the gospel with others
- A passion for serving children & youth, and a desire to see them grow spiritually in the camp setting
- Love of the outdoors, strong work ethic, creativity, positive attitude, and a desire to have FUN!
Responsibilities:
- Care of 10-12 campers on a weekly basis, living with them in cabins and participating with them in daily activities
- Leading nightly devotions, assisting in campfire worship, and participation in camp-wide activities
- Teaching a specific activity (i.e. "rotation) such as archery, low ropes, zip-line, climbing wall, lifeguarding, gym & field games, arts & crafts, etc.
- Other duties as needed
